On Vacation, Gone for the Weekend, Extended Time Away

Don’t Come Home to a Flooded Home

When leaving your home over the weekend, a week’s vacation or for an extended period of time do the following:

  • Turn off the main water supply line to your home
  • Open faucets in all the sinks
  • Make sure the outside faucets don’t have hoses connected
  • Turn off the water heater
  • Leave the heat set at 65 degrees when the weather is cold or going to get cold

It’s better to turn these items on than come home to a flooded home!
